P0505: Idle Air Control (IAC) System Malfunction

On cable-driven throttle vehicles, the ECM controls idle speed using an Idle Air Control (IAC) stepper motor or rotary solenoid. P0505 is set when the ECM cannot regulate engine idle to target speed.
